Plant-Based Craving Crushers to “Dye” for!
The Zippy Hippie is a Plant-Based food trailer from Denver, Colorado.
I cook ingredients, not processed goo. Tofu, Mushrooms, Soy Curls, Peppers, Onions, Garlic, Ginger, etc. Maybe someday I’ll sell the fake meat stuff, but for now, I’m going for minimally processed, real food. (Yes, the Fries are minimally processed)
We serve “Mostly Plants, Most of the Time”. (Not gonna lie, it’s hard to beat an old-school grilled cheese like you’d find at a Shakedown Street).
While we are not a gluten free trailer in the least, We do take steps to use Tamari instead of Soy sauce in our recipes to remove unnecessary gluten. Try a Bahn Hippie Bowl. All the goodness, none of the gluten.
Current menu items may include:
Bahn HippiePan-seared mushrooms and tofu on a fresh baguette topped with pickled daikon, carrots, cucumber, and jalapeno, finished with our truck-made spicy peanut sauce
Chicago “Beef” soy curl sandwich
Our vegan take on a Windy City classic. We pan-sear marinated soy curls, then soak them in gravy (au jus, if you must) on a fresh baguette with spicy giardiniera
Falafel / Hummus sandwich
We take actual dried chickpeas, soak them overnight, and turn them into little fried nugs of goodness. Served on a fresh baguette with hummus and vegan tzatziki.
Add a Side of Fries, and let the good times roll
Any of the above can be served on rice if you’re up for sharing a bowl..
As we grow, we will expand the menu to include:
Carrot Dogs! Yes, they will be back. Yes! they are a carrot that tastes like a Chicago dog. —Trippy Dog
Chicago “Beef” Sandwich
Mr. OllieKC Style BBQ soy curl slider
Chana Masala (Chickpea Curry)
“Butter Curls” Curry—Butter chicken, but with soy curls.
General’s Cauliflower
Colorado Green Chili
Fresh veggie/hummus sandwiches
Seasonal roasted vegetables
and more!
